Import custom fees through Excel

Any type of fees, taxes or other types of transactions can be imported through Excel by navigating to Custom fees in the fee type menu.
From the page below, we can download an Excel template that can be used for importing fees.
You can also download the file template below.
If we check the box "Do not allow negative balances the app will not create fee transactions for accounts that does not have cash available in the correct currency and instead e-mail us back a file with the failed transactions which we can use again after we have made sure that those accounts have a positive currency balance in the correct balance dimension (trade or settle).
Now, what should we think about when we enter information into the Excel sheet?
Well, first off we have to make sure that we are entering one row for each transaction dimension so one row for trade and one for settle. Below we have entered one fee transaction for each dimension for account 10001188 of 100 SEK each with trade date, settlement date and value date on the first of February. When we import the file the Fee Manager will check so that we have not entered both trade, settle and value dates on the same transaction since they have to be separated with different transaction types. Settlement date and value date could be entered on the same transaction though.
The TransactionReference column is possible to use in order to enter a custom transaction text which will be shown for the end customer. If for example, the imported fee relates to a certain fund instrument we can enter the fund name as the transaction reference.
If we try to import this file the Fee Manager will alert us to the fact that 100 SEK will be removed from accounts but not deposited into another account. The general idea with charging fees is that the customer BFS account would be debited and those funds will then be credited to the house fee account or another user of the system that could be a financial advisor. Let's have a look at the error message that will result from importing the file.
We can still process this import by checking the box titled "Override validation" but instead we are going to add transactions to deposit 50 SEK of the fee to a financial advisor and 50 SEK to the house fee account.
Now lets try the import file again.
Everything is validated correctly and we can click on the "Create Fees in BFS"-button.
